Washing Instructions
There are 2 ways we recommend washing your balaclava (handwashing would be safest, however you can choose to use a washing machine)
Option 1: Handwashing
- Turn the balaclava inside out.
- Fill a sink or basin with cool water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
- Gently submerge the balaclava in the water and agitate it by hand to distribute the detergent.
- Let the balaclava soak for 5-10 minutes.
- Rinse the balaclava thoroughly with cool water until all the soap is gone.
- Squeeze out excess water (do not wring) and lay flat on a clean towel to air dry.
By handwashing your balaclava, you have more control over the washing process and can help prevent any damage to the fabric or distressing that may occur in a washing machine.
Option 2: Washing machine
- Turn the balaclava inside out and place it in a mesh laundry bag to protect it from getting caught or tangled.
- Use cold water and a gentle cycle on your washing machine.
- Add a small amount of mild detergent to the washer.
- Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach as these can damage the fabric.
- Once the cycle is complete, remove the balaclava from the mesh bag and lay flat on a clean towel to air dry.
Using a washing machine can be a convenient way to clean your balaclava, but it's important to take precautions to avoid damage to the fabric or distressing. Using a mesh laundry bag can help protect the balaclava and keep it from getting tangled or caught in the machine.
